  Great restaurant

  Have been eating at Smiths since it opened in Uddingston. I have never had a disappointing meal and my recent lunch was excellent. I started with the ham hough terrine and my friend had the smoked salmon tartlet. Both were delicious. Our main courses were equally good. I had the smoked trout and my friend the blade of beef. The 2 course lunch, which includes coffee, is good value. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Smiths of Uddingston is handily located on the town’s Main Street next to the train station. The restaurant is very relaxed and offers it’s customers elegant yet rustic bistro dining. The menu is carefully put together using the best Scottish ingredients but with a hint of French influence derived from the chef’s experience as a chef in France.

Smith’s have also recently been named as both the Best Urban Restaurant and Overall Best Restaurant of The Year at the Scottish Restaurant Awards 2011.
