Bar Square is a fashionable cocktail bar and restaurant on Bell Street in Glasgow’s popular Merchant City serving a range of ‘pub grub’ favourites and modern cuisine. Once inside, the venue opens out into the huge indoor courtyard of Merchant Square and is the ideal setting for a romantic meal, a relaxed meal with friends, or group celebration. Accessible to wheelchair users, the restaurant is also child-friendly and children are welcome in the courtyard until 8pm Sunday to Thursday and 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The restaurant have a varied yet straightforward menu with items to suit all tastes. An example of this are the haggis bites with a Glayva jus which sit comfortably on the menu alongside salmon fishcakes and jalapeno poppers, and the slow cooked lamb shank listed next to fajitas, stir fries and pasta dishes.
Popular choices amongst customers include the sirloin steak (cooked to your liking), macaroni cheese (made with Marshall’s pasta) and the chilli beef nachos, not to mention that Glasgow favourite, fish and chips.
Bar Square is on Bell Street in the Merchant City area of Glasgow and is close to taxi ranks and bus stops. Queen Street and Central train stations are each a 10 minute walk from the restaurant, with Buchanan Street and St. Enoch Subway stations also within walking distance. Payable parking is available at the NCP car park on nearby Albion Street.
