  I first visited The Buttery in 1985 when I was one of the early vegetarians - it was the first restaurant ever to offer me a separate vegetarian menu. That's how ahead of the game they were at that time. I have always enthused about the Two Fat Ladies Restaurants and was one of their first customers in the 88 Dumbarton Road original. When they took over the Buttery in 2007 I did wonder what would happen but it has gone from strength to strength and I was so glad to see it do more than just survive, it is flourishing. The staff get it absolutely right and the food is amazing, always surpassing expectations. I have given them full marks in the value for money category as, even though it is on the expensive side, I think it is more than worth it. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. On this visit I took two of my friends for the first time, they were on a visit to Glasgow and we wanted somewhere special - and that is exactly what we got. Well done guys, keep up the good work and continue to stay ahead of the game!
