Wow!!! From the minute I entered Pickled Ginger I felt at ease. I was well taken care of by Kirsty. In fact all the individuals were amazing. This was my dearest friend and I's first time and what a memorable afternoon.
The food was fresh and out of this world. Cooked with love and passion. This is not the last visit here. Grateful to you Pickled Ginger.

This is a wee gem of a place, with friendly staff, excellent food & is very handy for the Hydro! We were welcomed with smiles and shown to our table which already had menus on it and were brought a glass of water each within a few minutes. We opted for chicken gyoza to share (and they were delicious - as good as any I’ve had before), one seafood sushi platter and a beef bulgogi. According to my sushi obsessed husband the sushi was delicious and I can definitely vouch for the beef dish being delicious - with a generous portion of tender, finely sliced beef. I want to go back and try other things but I also kind of want to go back and have the beef again! There was a nice range of beers, wines and spirits and we were pleased they had our soft drink of choice (Pepsi max) in cans. Since we had 20% off à la carte through 5pm we decided to try dessert (chocolate mochi and chocolate dorayaki). They were nice (the mochi has an interesting texture!) but we probably wouldn’t order them again as we’d probably prefer to try another side or small dish instead. The staff deserve a mention for being friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being pushy. We will definitely be back!

Pickled Ginger is a modern Japanese restaurant on St Vincent Street. Fitting neatly into the fashionable Finnieston restaurant scene, it is a stylish space with a buzzy but relaxed atmosphere. Cocktails, sake, Asian beers and an interesting range of Japanese whiskies and spirits are as much of an attraction as the food.
A sushi chef prepares the fresh sushi and sashimi to order at the counter of Pickled Ginger. For those who are less keen on fish, there are lots of other options such as beef tataki or pork karaage. As well as Korean bulgogi, a beef dish, there are wok fried noodles; spicy beef broths, chicken teriyaki and tofu dishes.
If the choice seems overwhelming, there is always the option to order a bento box filled with nigiri sushi, a main course, steamed rice, salad and miso soup. Adventurous dessert fans may wish to leave room for exotic choices like the chocolate mochi.
Pickled Ginger is located on St Vincent Street in the Finnieston area of Glasgow between the city centre and the West End. Charing X and the Exhibition Centre are the closest railway stations. Several bus routes run along St Vincent Street and Argyle Street. There is limited on-street parking. Nearby attractions include The Hydro
