A pre-theatre dinner, we thought… but the quality of the welcome, the service, the food, and the manager made it a thoroughly enjoyable part of the evening. Highly recommended.. we will be back!!

The Pipers' Tryst deal was fab value for money, great food and wine. Had such good night we stayed longer, booked additional course and coffee. Lovely staff, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Located in the Cowcaddens area of Glasgow city centre, The Pipers’ Tryst is a cosy Scottish restaurant in the National Piping Centre on McPhater Street. The converted church also houses a museum and heritage centre as well as a bagpipe shop, and is a popular venue for weddings and events. The restaurant is handy for the nearby theatre venues as well as Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall, so is ideal for a pre-show meal or intimate dinner. With a modern decor and a welcoming ambience, The Pipers’ Tryst showcases quality Scottish dishes made with locally sourced produce.
The restaurant’s menus offer enough variety to cater to all tastes, and offer a children’s menu for younger diners. Haggis, naturally, is often on the menu and served with neeps and tatties – vegetarians can even get in on the action with a lentil & bean version of this famous dish.
Other Scottish favourites on the menu can include items like the macaroni cheese (with Arran cheddar & roast cherry tomatoes, or bacon & spring onions); the fish supper with hand cut chips, mushy peas & tartare sauce; the cullen skink soup; and those with a sweet tooth may leap at the chance to try Scotland’s traditional dessert, cranachan.
The Pipers’ Tryst is on McPhater Street within the National Piping Centre in the city centre of Glasgow. At the northern end of Hope Street, the restaurant is a 5 minute stroll from Cowcaddens Subway station with Buchanan Bus Station also a short distance away. Both Queen Street and Central train stations are around 15 minutes from The Pipers’ Tryst, and paid off-street parking is available across at Cambridge Street car park beside the Thistle Hotel.
