This is the second time I have been in the Italian Caffe using the 5pm menu and the food is delicious. They happily moved me when I saw that we were sitting near the speaker for the music and I have a problem with background noise. Very polite and friendly.

This is the place to dine for anyone looking for first class food and service. We dined from the "Starter and Main" 5pm menu and we were not disappointed with the quality nor the quantity served. The food was fantastic! Will certainly dine here again.

The Italian Caffe in Glasgow’s Merchant City offers a varied menu of classic Italian food but in a novel way, with an emphasis on unique, small plates dining. The perfect combination of chic and comfort, The Italian Caffe’s sage green leather booths, walnut furnishing and bright, modern dining room add to an enjoyable dining experience.
On sunnier days, guests can choose to dine al fresco, taking in the beautiful surroundings in the heart of Merchant City.
The small plates menu offered by The Italian Caffe allows diners to try a wide range of delicious dishes in one sitting, mixing original creations with classic Italian cuisine. Typical small plates include roast potatoes with fresh rosemary and sea salt; sardines grilled with sea salt and lemon, and king prawns in a spicy Siciliana sauce, served on a crostino. Combine these with the likes of chicken livers sautéed in a rich Marsala wine sauce and oysters rockafella baked with spinach, pancetta cream and parmesan and a meal at The Italian Caffe covers a wide range of different flavours and ingredients.
The Italian Caffe’s menu also includes antipasti, small Neapolitan pizzas, pasta and rice dishes and is available for lunch and pre-theatre, should guests have planned an afternoon or evening out nearby. These can be followed by numerous desserts which are all prepared in the restaurant.
With a list offering over 50 different wines, guests have no trouble in finding the perfect wine to accompany selected dishes, with around half of those wines available by the glass.
The Italian Caffe is happy to accommodate children, with smaller portions available for the younger generation. In addition, wheelchair access and an outside heated smoking area is available.
Ideally located on Albion Street, The Italian Caffe is a short distance from Ingram Street and High Street, where bus links and taxi points are available. It is walking distance from George Square and Glasgow shopping mainstays Buchanan Street and Argyle Street.
Easily accessible from the Queen Street, Central, Argyle Street and High Street train stations, diners have no shortage of trains out of the area, however car parks on Glassford Street and Candleriggs provide ample parking for those with cars.
