The Chippy Doon the Lane Review

    We were seated on arrival in a dark corner. Our sparkling wine was disgusting - I asked what kind of wine it was and was told it's just a sparkling white. Asked for something drier and was advised it wasn't possible. The starters were basic - tomato soup. Main fish was very good - a bit greasy but huge portion, which was nice. Wine with meal was OK. Dessert, a chocolate cake, was not very good. It was heated as requested but had gone hard. Had to ask for the ice cream that accompanied the cake.
