Tea & cake in Glasgow city centre

For those who love the ceremony of afternoon tea, Glasgow’s Cup Tea Lounge is heaven. Sixteen cupcake options (plus daily specials) and 42 speciality teas all served in the decadent surroundings of a B listed Victorian building, it is the perfect place for a special day out or catch up with friends.

Cup Tea Lounge has built its reputation on two things – tea and cake. Its extensive cupcake menu includes adventurous takes on the classic cake such as the ambassadors delight (chocolate base with hazelnut frosting topped with a Ferrero Rocher chocolate) and peach milkshake (vanilla base with peach frosting and a milk and white chocolate straw) as well as favourites such as the pink vanilla and double chocolate.

Afternoon tea

Their tea menu features 42 options of black, roobis, green, white, herbal and fruit tea. All teas have been hand blended in small batches by Cup’s tea blend. Their artisan process of making the tea means that no machines are used and the tea leaves are not bruised.

Undoubtedly the most luxurious way to experience Cup Tea Lounge is to enjoy their afternoon tea, which offers three tiers of mini cakes and desserts along with a pot of tea, coffee or Belgian hot chocolate. Little ones will delight in the children’s afternoon tea which includes a smaller selection of cakes along with tea or squash.

Breakfast, lunch, ice cream and coffee menus are also available.
