  Took my colleague for a celebratory meal as I'd been before with my cousin and her husband. Left rather underwhelmed. The choice of meal on the 5pm deal was take it or leave it. the service was pleasant, but not exactly attentive. Adding a service charge directly to the bill suggests to me a lack of confidence that the service deserves a tip, or maybe just stops the staff from trying too hard. Food was fine, except the chips, which were bathed in salt. Dining room was quiet, and just lacked any atmosphere...until the young fogeys arrived, and it went downhill. Nothing overly wrong, but no real zing factor either.
