Was in the area and booked the deal at short notice. Not been there since before lockdown but will definitely be back soon. Forgot how good the beer and burgers were at West. 5pm deal saved me a few quid, and stayed for another couple of drinks in the beer garden. Food and the service were excellent. Easy to see why this is popular with locals and tourists in Glasgow.

Really good tour with our guide Adam, was so friendly and knowledgeable. Tasting session great too. Would be great for tourists to come and visit.

WEST is a stylish German beerhall and brewery in Templeton Building, on Glasgow Green. The only UK brewery to produce all of its brews in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, the German Purity Law of 1516, WEST can be summed up by their motto ‘Glaswegian Heart. German Head’. Decked out in wood panelling, the beerhall has a warm, rustic feel. The beer garden is very popular on sunny days.
The WEST menu showcases fresh, natural Scottish ingredients and traditional German cuisine, all prepared by the kitchen’s top class chefs. Popular starters include the goulash soup; warm winter salad and smoked mackerel, black pudding and apple salad.
There are wurst, or sausage, options including currywurst and a vegan alternative. The burger selection offers several choices and dedicated carnivores may want to weigh up the relative merits of the jager schnitzel and the WEST dipping steak. There are non-meat options and further fish choices such as baked hake ratatouille.
WEST is in the Templeton Building on Glasgow Green in Glasgow’s East End. Local attractions include The People’s Palace and Winter Garden plus Barrowland concert hall. It boasts free parking, sits on a major bus route and is only a 5 minute walk from Bridgeton train station.
