Vibrant brasserie in Glasgow city centre

Chez Mal Brasserie is in Glasgow’s Malmaison hotel. The building was originally a Greek Orthodox church and the atmospheric restaurant sits in what used to be the crypt. As well as the main dining room, there are three intimate private dining rooms. Adjacent to the brasserie, Mal Bar is cool hangout which is hung with Pop Art. Craft beer, cocktails and a carefully chosen wine list pull in the customers as does the resident DJ on Friday nights.

British ingredients, global dishes

From Cumbrian chicken to Hereford beef, Chez Mal Brasserie uses the finest British produce. The ever evolving menus showcase these ingredients in dishes which range from British classics to more exotic options such as the Keralan monkfish curry or the Moroccan spiced whole chicken. The latter is designed to be shared, as is the Chateaubriand beef. The grill section is always popular and the towering Mal burger has many fans.

As well as a seasonal prix fixe menu, Chez Mal operates a magnificent Sunday brunch with endless starters from the Chef’s table; a selection of main courses including roasts, and a dessert.

Local attractions and transport links

Chez Mal Brasserie at Malmaison is on West George Street in Glasgow city centre. Queen Street and Central railway stations are a brisk ten minute walk. There is some on-street pay parking and a pay car park on nearby Bath Street. The Hydro concert venue is a short taxi ride away while the King’s Theatre is a five minute walk for guests who would like a pre-theatre meal.
