- Q: Are there any facilities for families?
A: Absolutely – accessible toilets, a baby changing area, and a cloakroom are all available on site.
- When is the Ice Rink open?
A. The Ice Rink is open from 20th November 2025 to 4th January 2026. Opening times vary, so please check session times.
- Who can visit the Ice Rink?
A. The Ice Rink is open to everyone! All attendees must fit a child size 8 or above, for young ones with smaller feet they can attend our Toddler sessions where bob skates are available.
- What should I wear?
A. Wrap up warm! It's winter in Scotland. The Ice Rink is covered, so you can skate in any weather. Thick socks are recommended for comfort in the skates.
- Are there toilets?
A. Yes, toilets, including accessible toilets and baby changing facilities, are available at the George Street site. Make sure to use the facilities before your session, as you cannot leave the ice to use the toilet once your skates are on.
- Can I bring my dog?
A. Dogs are welcome on the wider site but are not permitted at The Ice Rink, including on the ice. If you have an assistance dog, please contact our team on [email protected]
- Where can I store my bag?
A. A cloakroom is available for storing valuables or bags at £2 per bag, with cashless payment. You will receive a wristband, which must be kept. Storage is on a first-come, first-served basis. Bags of any kind are not allowed on the ice rink.
- Can I take photos?
A. Spectators can take photos from the viewing areas. Skaters are advised to keep phones away during skating. Edinburgh's Christmas is not responsible for damage to phones on the ice.
- What happens in bad weather?
A. The Ice Rink is covered, so skating can continue in most weather conditions. However, in extreme weather, sessions may be cancelled, and customers will be notified with the option to reschedule or get a refund. Please see the Ticketing T&Cs section for more information.
- Are skate aids available?
Skate aid Penguins are available for younger children at an additional cost of £5. These can be purchased at the Ice rink only and cannot be pre-booked. Skate Aids are only available to children under 1.2m tall without skates or under 1.3m tall wearing skates and are subject to availability. Staff reserve the right to ask children to measure their height against the provided chart at point of sale.
- What are the available skate sizes?
Skate sizes range from Children's size 8 (EU 25) to Adult size 15 (EU 50).
- Can I bring my own skates?
Yes, you're welcome to bring your own skates, but they must be deemed safe for use on our rink. Lockers may be available for storing shoes.
