Set within its own grounds, the Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel is a Georgian residence near the banks of the River Ouse.

Today’s Big Deal is for a stay for two in a classic twin or double room. This will include a bottle of house wine on arrival (your choice of red or white), breakfast and a super late check-out at 3pm.

This offer is very flexible, with three options to choose from:

Option one is for an overnight stay for two.

Option two is for two people to have a two night stay.

Option three is for two people to have a two night stay with dinner on the first night.

Dinner will be a £22 per person allowance towards the Brasserie menu. Vegetarian and gluten/wheat-free options are available, please advise the hotel when booking.

This deal is available seven days a week until late December 2018. There is a £30 supplement for Saturday night stays, payable directly to the hotel. If you fancy an extra bit of luxury, rooms can be upgraded to a Privilege room for £25 per night or a Superior room or £40.

Relaxed brasserie dining

Decorated in striking crimson, white and gold, the Brasserie at Mercure York serves up both Chef’s Signature Dishes and British favourites, as well as sizzling hot dishes from the grill.

Use of Roko health club

All hotel guests at Mercure York can enjoy complimentary use of the nearby Roko Health Club.

Facilities include no less than two swimming pools, a hydro spa, steam room, sauna and state-of-the-art gym, plus the BO*AB Hair & Beauty salon.

Fairytale of old York

York is a historic walled city that’s soaked in atmosphere. Highlights include the 13th century York Minster Cathedral, York Castle and York City Walls, a recreated cobbled Victorian street complete with costumed guides. Other highlights include Jorvik Viking centre, York Dungeon and York’s Chocolate Story.

‘Myself and my partner recently visited this hotel as a birthday treat for her to york. I emailed (very last minute) to ask if they could offer any additional perks as it was her birthday and we were both pleasantly surprised to find a cake and a balloon waiting in the room for her. The staff were super helpful and attentive and the hotel is stunning. We ordered room service which was prompt and again the member of staff was extremely friendly. The room was a little dated but no more than expected from a building of its type. It was a good distance from York centre and easily accessible from the A road. Would happily visit again should we ever return to york.’

‘Fantastic stay. We stayed for the weekend fri/sat night. We had a lovely spacious double room that was lovely and clean. We had our evening meal both nights in the hotel and breakfast both mornings, the food was fantastic and the service was even better. A special thank you to William our server as he was very helpful and made sure my meal was gluten free and that I had plenty of options, nothing seemed to much trouble. We would definitely stay again.’

‘A pleasant stay. The hotel and staff were very accommodating. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The only criticism I can offer is that there is only a lift for one section of the hotel and it was out of order. There was a park n ride a few minutes down the rode. It offered a convenient way in and out of York. Once again the bus service ends at 8pm but we were forewarned.’
