Today’s Big Deal with the Mercure Livingston hotel can provide a comfortable base for operations, if you fancy a couple of days shopping, or venturing further afield.
A short walk from the hotel, the outlet centre has dozens of shops ranging from Barbour and Boss to Weird Fish and White Stuff.
Of course, bashing the plastic is not the only reason to visit Livingston.
Its Central Belt location makes it convenient for attractions such as The Kelpies or the Falkirk Wheel and the surrounding countryside is packed with gorgeous country parks such as Beecraigs, Polkemmet and Muiravonside.
Edinburgh and all of the capital’s attractions are just sixteen miles away.
Bottle of wine on arrival
Available seven days a week, the offer has three options. All of which are for a stay in a Classic double or twin room and include a bottle of house wine in room on arrival, breakfast and a late check-out to 3pm. All guests are welcome to use the leisure facilities.
Option one is for two people to have a one night stay.
Option two is for two people to have a one night stay with dinner.
Option three is for two people to have a two night stay with dinner on the first night.
Great choice of dishes
Dinner is a £22 per person allowance to be spent on dishes from the Brasserie menu.
Popular main courses range from the braised chicken leg, with a white bean and smoked ham hock cassoulet to superfood salads and the Thai red curry. The Chef’s signature dishes include options such as maple roast pork belly, sausage and butterbean stack, pear and apple purée, sea salt crackling.
A grill section offers burgers, the fish of the day and, of course, the ever popular rib-eye steak which is dry-aged for 28 days.
Indoor heated swimming pool
Guests are welcome to enjoy a workout in the gym and relax afterwards in the indoor heated pool. The poolside steam room and pinewood sauna will keep you warm and relaxed before and after your swim.

‘Overall pretty good… The decor is a bit dated and there was a fair bit of wear and tear in our room, however the standard of cleanliness is top notch. Staff are very friendly and worked hard to help us all weekend. Breakfast is decent… The location is a short walk from a major supermarket and shopping centre so no complaints there…’
‘Stayed the night after a shopping trip. Great location, about a ten minute walk to the big shopping centres. Plenty places to dine out. Hotel itself is fine. The room was OK. Dinner is £22 per person allowance towards Brasserie menu; menu is subject to change. Allowance value to be used in 1 visit. There will be no refunds of unused credit and credit may not be carried forward.
