A two minute drive from the shores of Loch Lomond, The Old Schoolhouse is a unique collection of four self-catering holiday cottages.

All four properties have been lovingly restored and furnished to give a contemporary, luxurious feel. 

Getaway with friends or family

Valid from 1st May until 30th June, this Big Deal is very flexible.

Option one is for a four night, Monday to Friday, stay in a two bedroom cottage. The two bedroom cottages sleep up to six people on two double beds and a sofa bed.

Option two is for a Friday to Monday stay in a two bedroom cottage.

Option three is for a four night, Monday to Friday, stay in a three bedroom cottage sleeping up to eight people on three doubles and a sofa bed.

Option four is for a Friday to Monday stay in a three bed cottage.

Fully equipped cottages

The living rooms in the two bedroom cottages have an open-plan, contemporary feel and feature stylish wood flooring and hi-tech amenities, including flat screen TVs, Sky movies, Sky sports, and Wi-Fi.

In addition to the above, the three bedroom cottages are set over four levels and have a beautiful, natural-slate feature wall, viewed from the mezzanine living area.

The three bedroom cottages have a modern family bathroom as well as a shower room opposite the master bedroom.

The two bedroom cottages have a modern, stylish shower room.

Each cottage is equipped with all necessary appliances for a convenient stay: dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, hairdryer, iron, travel cot.

Naturally, there is free onsite parking for two cars per cottage. The nearest train station is Balloch and there is a bus link available to The Old Schoolhouse

See & do

Loch Lomond is a two minute drive or twenty minute walk from the house.

The views from the shores of Loch Lomond are breathtaking, and even more impressive from the peak of Ben Lomond, which can be climbed from Rowardenan, seven miles from The Old Schoolhouse.

You can experience a piece of history by visiting Rob Roy’s Cave near Inversnaid in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.

Nearby Balmaha also offers fishing from the pier and regular boat trips to the nearby islands including Wallaby Island, home to Scotland’s only colony of wallabies.

You can boat from Milarrochy bay and cycle and walk along the nearby West Highland Way and Conich Hill.

Loch Lomond is also the perfect base to visit several world famous, Scottish golf courses including Loch Lomond, Gleneagles, St Andrews Old Course, Turnberry and Carnoustie.

Hot tub

While there is an amazing choice of things to see and do in the local area, there is nothing to stop you doing as little as possible.

Many guests like to hire the hot tub at The Old School House and soak in the scenery while immersed in bubbles.

You can hire for a cost of £139 with a two-bedroom cottage and £159 with a three-bedroom cottage, subject to availability.
