Easy reach of Glasgow

For some, the best short breaks mean peace and quiet.

For others, they spell P-A-R-T-Y!

Today’s Big Deal with the Lomond Park Hotel in Balloch can offer both.

Just a brief train journey or a short drive from Glasgow, Lomond Park Hotel means Scotland’s gorgeous countryside is within easy reach.

And, depending on when you choose to go, you can make the most of the area’s tranquil natural beauty or enjoy the hotel’s friendly nightlife.

Spring break

The Lomond Park Hotel is a comfortable modern hotel, with a restaurant, two bars and a popular weekend nightspot. It’s also a handy base for exploring the Loch Lomond area.

Available seven days a week, with supplements for weekend stays, the Big Deal offers a stay for two in a double or twin room with continental breakfast and a bottle of house wine in your room on arrival.

Option one is for one night and includes a three course dinner. Option two is for two consecutive nights and includes a three course dinner for each guest on the first night.

Comfortable, modern, ensuite guest rooms are all equipped with plasma TVs with built in DVD and Freeview, plus tea and coffee facilities.

Peace or party

The hotel is a tranquil and relaxed spot for Sunday to Thursday stays.

Friday and Saturday nights mean party time. The hotel’s Glenroy bar has live music every Saturday and karaoke every Friday and Sunday evening.

Raffles Lounge features DJs every Friday and Saturday after 9pm while the hotel’s club plays all the dance floor-fillers until 3am.

It is up to you to choose peace and quiet or party zone.

Scottish dining

The Big Deal offers a three course dinner served in the convivial Raffles Lounge. The menu combines contemporary cuisine with some traditional pub classics, using seasonal and locally-sourced produce where possible.

Shopping and cruising

Balloch is a versatile base that should tick most of the boxes for a satisfying break. Shopping at the Lomond Shores and Loch Lomond Factory Outlets is always popular, and nearby Antartex Village offers a host of shoes, clothes, fabrics and Scottish souvenirs.

Sightseeing cruises on the loch are available from Balloch, and local attractions include the Aquarium Sea-life Centre and Balloch Country Park.

For the big city connection, trains into central Glasgow leave every half hour, taking less than 45 minutes.

Happy guests

Lomond Park Hotel is a useful base for stays near Loch Lomond and has plenty of approving comments on TripAdvisor, including these recent contributions:

‘Room was tidy, staff were helpful. Stayed for one night and I enjoyed it. Food was delicious. Great atmosphere in the bar when it turns to dancing. Great night. I will definitely be staying here if I go back to Balloch for a night.’

‘Our room was very clean. The towels were fluffy and white and the bedding was very comfortable and very clean. Our evening meal and wine was enjoyable and the breakfast was nice and hot and tasty and served by a very lovely lady who was both friendly and informative. All the staff were very helpful. The hotel was very quiet, however, it seems later in the week that it can be busy and noisy. Choose your time. We would stay there again if in the area.’

‘Loved this hotel the staff were super friendly and efficient; the drinks are reasonably priced and the food was lovely. Added bonus was the karaoke and the friendly locals then on to the nightclub in hotel. If u don’t like noise then this is not the place for you. The rooms are clean but basic but all in all value for money.’

Take the high road up to Loch Lomond with today’s Big Deal.

A convenient getaway break with dinner at Lomond Park would make a great gift and offers an easy escape for a spot of shopping or a scenic stroll by the loch.

Or indeed some banging tunes.
