Feeling the urge to escape the everyday? You basically have two main options.
Either you can watch the latest science fiction series on Netflix and follow the adventures of a superhero space detective in the year 3019.
Or you could put down the remote and put yourself in the centre of an actual, bonafide adventure instead.
Such as today’s Big Deal for a kayaking session across beautiful, bonny and breathtaking Loch Lomond, available as a solo or group experience.
Choose your own adventure
Today’s Big Deal for a kayaking session from Loch Lomond Leisure is very flexible, with six options in total.
You will have the choice of a two or four hour adventure in different kayak types, suitable for solo, paired or group trips.
Get a knack for the kayak
Kayaks have been used to travel across water for thousands of years. Now it is your turn to join in the tradition on a one, two or three person vessel.
And where better than Loch Lomond? It is easy enough to get to and jaw-dropping enough for you to feel that you have had a decent fix of Scottish scenery.
As you can enjoy your experience from May to September, you can choose which season to best enjoy the loch’s natural scenery.
So why not make a whole day out of it by combining it with other loch-side activities like hiking, cycling and wildlife spotting, followed by a slap-up meal at a local dining spot?
Fully qualified coach
Here is how your kayaking session will go:
You will arrive at the departure point of Loch Lomond Leisure at Rowardennan Hotel. There, you will meet a fully qualified BCU coach who will supply you with your kayak, paddle and a compulsory buoyancy aid. There will also be changing facilities and bag storage available.
All participants will receive a safety induction and basic training – once you set off from Rowardennan, you will be completely independent and enjoy the freedom to explore Loch Lomond at your own pace.
Although a wetsuit isn’t included, you can be able to hire one for £2 on the day. Please also remember to bring photo ID with you.
Solo mission or fun with friends
As you can purchase multiples and also book a one, two or three person kayak, this would either make a great me-time escape or a fun day out with family and friends
Children are welcome, with twelve being the minimum age for a solo kayak. If you are booking a two or three person kayak, the minimum age is five years old.
Please note that under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
