Do you know what would make an excellent Christmas gift?
Whisking a couple you know, or your other half, to Stirling for an overnight stay.
Not only is Stirling one of the most important historical destinations in Scotland (Braveheart, anyone?), there’s a multitude of things to see and do, like Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, and the spa town of Bridge of Allan.
Of course, you could just stay in the hotel and have a cosy time eating, drinking and relaxing and going for a dip in the pool.
Valid until the end of April, there’s plenty of time to take advantage of this deal too.
Overnight Stirling stay
This deal at Stirling Court Hotel has two options.
Option one is for an overnight stay for two with a full Scottish breakfast and two course meal in the hotel’s restaurant. Option two is the same and includes a welcome drink each.
The deal is available seven days a week until the end of April (Friday and Saturday nights in December excluded).
Beautiful university grounds
Stirling Court Hotel is located on the beautiful 330 acre grounds of Stirling University, surrounded by rolling hills, lakes and lochs. There’s even a castle on the grounds!
The bedrooms at Stirling Court Hotel are modern and stylish, with en suite bathrooms with a bath and shower, free WiFi, a flat screen TV with Freeview, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, a trouser press and a desk area. Some of the rooms boast views of the Wallace Monument.

Guests can also pay to use the site’s indoor and outdoor tennis courts and nine hole par three golf course.
Restaurant and bar
Today’s Big Deal includes a two course meal within the hotel’s Abbey Craig Restaurant.
The restaurant serves seasonal dishes, with all ingredients locally sourced wherever possible. Starters may include the Scottish cured salmon with baby capers and lemon herb dressing and the Stornoway black pudding with crisp pancetta and poached egg, on a bed of sunblush tomato and dressed leaves.
Mains like the slow-cooked lamb rump served with creamy mashed potato, roasted neeps and carrots and a rosemary jus often feature, and desserts could include the chefs own sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and Ayrshire salted caramel ice cream.
Vegetarian dishes are always included on the menu and vegan, gluten-free, sodium-free and other special dietary requirements are easily catered to with advance notice.
Those who would like a drink after their meal can relax in the hotel’s cosy lounge bar.

Recent reviews, edited for length, say:
‘More often than not it’s the staff that make or break a stay. The staff at this hotel are absolutely brilliant! They are the most friendly and accommodating you’ll come across. The rooms were clean and tidy and adequately proportioned with views to the hills or the Wallace Monument. The food in the bar was excellent and reasonably priced. The facilities as a training venue are hard to beat. Thoroughly enjoyed my week.’
‘We had an evening meal in the restaurant which I would highly recommend, the food was amazing and plenty of. All staff were very pleasant and friendly and nothing was a problem for them, especially Kimberley on Reception, we would definitely return. Very close to Bridge of Allan which is a lovely place with nice shops.’
