An introduction to the rugged skills needed for off-road driving for children, teens and adults, this Big Deal gives the chance to learn 4×4 driving techniques in the safe, experienced hands of the instructors at Action Adventure Activities.

Off road driving

The Big Deal offers a great introduction to the world of 4×4 driving and is perfect for first timers of all ages.

Before you get your chance to drive, your instructor will demonstrate the techniques required to negotiate the tracks at the Action Adventure base near Aberfoyle on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.

Watch out – each track is trickier than the last.

Each driver will receive a short demonstration, following by some driving time behind the wheel of one of their Off Road Prepared vehicles – 15 mins for Kids or Junior, 15-20 mins for Adults.

Kids sessions are for ages 9 to 12 years (£24) and junior sessions for 12 to 16 years (£24) with options to upgrade. Kids must be a minimum of 4 foot 6 to drive. There is a difference in track and terrain between the kids and junior sessions.

Adult sessions are shared with at least one other driver and, depending on group size, can last up to two hours, with individual behind-the-wheel time of around 20 minutes. There is the option for one person (£29), and two people (£55), also with options to upgrade. Available for 14 years and older, under 18s will have a participating adult driver with them.

Upgrade your experience

There is the chance to upgrade to have a one-to-one session with the instructor, who will guide you over the challenges of longer trails and more technical terrain.

Extended Kids 4×4 is available for £30 giving 15 minutes extra driving time on lumpier and bumpier terrain.

Junior Adventure 4×4 gives 15 minutes extra driving time on more challenging terrain and is £25 per person extra, and Junior Extreme 4×4 gives approximately 30 minutes extra driving time which is £40 per person extra over more technical and challenging terrain.

Adventure 4×4 gives 20 minutes extra driving time on challenging terrain and is £40 per person extra, and Extreme Adventure 4×4 gives 30 minutes extra driving time which is £50 per person extra over more technical and challenging terrain.

All upgrade costs are paid directly to Action Adventure Activities at time of booking.

Based deep in Braveheart country on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Action Adventure Activities have spent over 30 years in the Scottish hospitality industry and the staff have a wealth of experience in numerous outdoor pursuits.
