Are you a dab hand at aiming the remote control at the TV in time to turn off a film before it gets to the sad bit? If so, then you’d be a natural at aiming a shotgun too.
Today’s Big Deal from the National Shooting Centre is a chance to test out your skills with clay target practice at the new championship grounds. With individual and group options, you can head over there as a lone ranger or gather together a gang of shooters.
Suitable for total newbies as well as experienced gunslingers, this would also make a unique gift.
Father’s day isn’t far away… go on. Make his day that bit better.
Whether you are already a crack shot or have never held a gun before, this Big Deal offers a great introduction to the new facilities at the National Shooting Centre and the exciting sport of clay target shooting.
Taking place in the shooting school’s purpose-built, championship grounds, this deal will give you the chance to test your aim. The deal is open to everyone, with a warm, friendly welcome awaiting you on arrival.
Guided by an experienced coach, you will learn how to safely load, aim and shoot a shotgun at moving clay targets.
All equipment, cartridges and targets will be supplied along with professional instruction and, of course, safety advice.
If you already have some experience of clay target shooting then the instructors can help you to improve.
The school’s tutors – all national and international champions – can train shooters from total beginner right up to international competitor levels in various disciplines.
There is also a cafe on site serving hot drinks, soups and sandwiches. Big Deal customers can enjoy tea/coffee and cake for a special price of £3.
Individual or group experience
This Big Deal is available as a solo experience or a group event.
Options one and two are for one person to have 25 or 50 shots respectively.
Options three to five are for groups of five people minimum and eight maximum. Each person in the group will have 20, 30 or 45 shots each. The price given is per person.
Earlier this year, the centre gained new owners who have made a large investment in improving and modernising the facilities.
Regular users have been quick to comment on TripAdvisor. One reckoned that the ‘grounds have been completely transformed into what will become a bespoke shooting centre and one of the best in the country’.
He continued, ‘well worth a visit for experienced and first time shooters alike’.
Another thought that the National Shooting Centre was ‘one of the UK’s leading shooting facilities and a million miles away from its previous incarnation. The centre has friendly staff and state of the art technology’.
The new facilities have also found favour with newcomers to the sport:
‘We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience here today. Andy was excellent in keeping us safe, explaining and encouraging us along the way, and especially good with Alex our fifteen year-old son…’
‘Great afternoon. My son got this as a birthday present and asked me to go along also. I had never shot a gun in my life and the experience was fantastic. Our instructor Andy was brilliant, good fun and was a great tutor. I would not hesitate to return in the very near future. Thanks for a great afternoon.’
