Now a cosy, wee hotel with eleven rooms, Old Churches House in Dunblane was formerly a meeting place for different churches.
If you have been praying for a relaxing break in a charming hotel then today’s Big Deal will seem like a blessing.
Take up today’s Big Deal and give thanks for an autumnal getaway to Dunblane, the prettiest cathedral town in Stirlingshire.
Less than a one hour drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh, Old Churches House is situated in the heart of Dunblane’s Cathedral Square.
Part of a row of 18th-century cottages, Old Churches House is a welcoming spot with ensuite bedrooms and a charming restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced food.
Available 7 days a week
Available seven days a week, option one is for two people to enjoy an overnight dinner bed and breakfast stay in one of the hotel’s double or twin rooms.
Option two, also available seven days a week, is for two people to enjoy a two consecutive night stay with a three course dinner each evening and full Scottish breakfast in the mornings.
All the rooms have picturesque views across the cathedral square with its historic cottages, beautiful medieval cathedral and leafy kirk yard.
The rooms feature fluffy, Egyptian cotton towels; hot drinks trays and ensuite facilities.
There is free WiFi throughout the building.
Each evening, guests can enjoy a three course dinner from the main menu followed by coffee.
A charming spot with pitched wooden ceilings and views across Cathedral Square, the Dining Room serves a lovely selection of traditional Scottish and British dishes.
Wherever possible, the kitchen uses fresh, local and seasonal produce. The menus change regularly but typical starters might be the haddock and lemon mini-fishcakes; the haggis fritters or the buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad with a basil dressing.
Popular main courses include the Scottish rib-eye steak from Bennetts the local butcher; the game casserole plus the beer-battered, North Sea haddock.
Lots to see and do
As autumn turns the leaves golden, the hotel is perfectly located for exploring The Trossachs National Park and historic landmarks such as Stirling Castle.
There are plenty of Munros to be conquered in the surrounding area and it’s ideally place for a round of golf at Gleneagles.

‘Lovely hotel in great location… The hotel is very clean and comfortable with good sized rooms and comfortable beds. We found all the staff to be extremely friendly and willing to help whenever they can. The hotel itself has great character reflecting its history and it is situated in the middle of the beautiful town of Dunblane, right opposite Dunblane Cathedral…
‘We had our evening meal in the hotel restaurant which is clean and comfortable with wonderful views over the cathedral. The menu is extensive and the food is excellent. Service was faultless and breakfast the following morning was both filling and extremely well prepared and presented. We have no hesitation in recommending The Old Churches House Hotel…’
