Part of the Trossachs National Park but just an hour from Glasgow or Edinburgh, the Lake of Menteith Hotel was originally a 19th century manse.

As the name suggests, the hotel sits by the side of the Lake of Menteith.

Since being bought and revamped in the warm and welcoming style of a classic New England waterfront hotel, it has won numerous awards including Romantic Hotel of The Year and, last year, Small Country Hotel of the Year.

‘Lovely quaint hotel. Staff really friendly. Beautiful views over the lake in the restaurant… ate in the restaurant every evening, meals were excellent. The room was good, would have been nice to overlook the lake but it was a comfortable room. Coffee tea hot choc machine, biscuits available. Fresh towels toiletries. Bed comfy. Really nice touch every day afternoon tea/coffee with scones foc. It was a nice quiet break for us to recharge, would recommend it.’
