What would make the best desert island drink – gin or whisky?
We certainly love the idea of enjoying a nice G&T beneath a palm tree while gazing at the ocean sunset. But when it turns dark on the island, it’s whisky that would keep us warm. Hmmm, dilemma…
If your castaway tipple of choice is a G&T, then why not head to the Alhambra Gin Festival in Stirling this March? Or if it’s a dram, then the Alhambra Whisky Festival the following month will offer plenty for you to sample.
And of course, there is no reason why you can’t go along to both.
Ticket to gin or whisky festival
Hidden away in the Victorian splendour of Stirling Arcade, the recently re-opened Alhambra Theatre dates back to the 1920s, making it a very special setting for a drinks festival.
This Big Deal is for a ticket to either the Alhambra Gin Festival or Alhambra Whisky Festival, taking place at both 1pm or 5pm on Saturday 30th March and Saturday 6th April respectively.
With entertainment, food stalls and plenty of brands to sample, you don’t have to be a gin or whisky connoisseur to enjoy either event.
As you can buy multiples, why not get a group of friends together for a tipsy meet-up?
Gin, glorious gin
The Alhambra Gin Festival will take place at both 1pm and 5pm on Saturday 30th March 2019 at The Stirling Arcade on King Street.
The festival will be a celebration of the currently booming gin industry, with many producers in attendance to let you taste their creations.
You will also receive a complimentary gin glass, a festival programme and a £5 discount on any bottles of gin that you fancy taking home to enjoy.
As well as gin tastings, there will also be tasty samples from local food producers, a bar area serving a variety of other drinks and live acoustic music.
The Alhambra Whisky Festival will take place in the same location on Saturday 6th April 2019, again at both 1pm and 5pm.
The festival will be a celebration of Scotland’s national tipple, with many whisky producers offering you a chance to sample their drams.
You will also receive a complimentary whisky glass, festival programme and £5 discount voucher for any bottles that you want to buy.
Similar to the gin festival, there will be food vendors in attendance, as well as live entertainment and a bar area.
So what’s it to be – gin or whisky? Whichever you choose, you can enjoy it all in the atmospheric setting of a beautiful 1920s theatre.
And of course, if you are struggling to choose then you can go along to both events and sample the amazing variety of Scotland’s two national drinks.
