A proud winner of Channel 4’s ‘Four in a Bed’ series, The Waverley Hotel is a recently refurbished, traditional Scottish inn. Guests can unwind in fully ensuite rooms with cheerful splashes of tartan, flat screen TVs, free WiFi and hospitality trays.

This one or two night stay is available seven days a week and is for two people to share a standard twin or double room.

There will be a mini bottle of Prosecco each waiting on arrival and guests can dine on three courses from the set menu on their first night. The breakfast selection includes continental and cooked full Scottish options.

Please note that there will be a supplement of £15 per night for Fridays and Saturday stays. One child of 12 or under can stay for free in a family room. One dog is also welcome for a £10 supplement.

Pretty Callander is the gateway to the Highlands, ideal if you want to immerse yourself in Scotland’s rugged beauty without having to travel too far. It is the ideal base for exploring Loch Lomond & The Trossachs, Rob Roy’s Grave or Doune Castle.

There are plenty of attractions in the town as well, including Callander Golf Course and the fascinating Hamilton Toy Collection. The beautiful Bracklinn Falls are well worth seeing and only a 20-minute walk from the hotel.

The restaurant at The Waverley prides itself on serving Scottish pub food favourites.

With this offer, you can enjoy a three course meal for two from the set menu. If you choose option two, then dinner will be on your first night.

Menus can be updated seasonally, but typical mains might include the slow-cooked pork belly with creamy dauphinoise potatoes, the chicken supreme in a creamy smoked cheese sauce and the Waverley steak & ale pie using locally sourced beef and Belhaven gravy.

Vegetarian, vegan and wheat/gluten-free options are also available, please arrange with the hotel at the time of booking.

‘Lovely overnight stay. Stayed for one night. Very, very friendly. Room was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was yummy. Full veggie breakfast! Our dog was made to feel very welcome. She was allowed in most areas, just not the restaurant area, which was fine.’

We went downstairs to the bar which was very spacious and quite busy. The selection of cask ales and malt whiskies was impressive, so over the next few nights tried a few and was not disappointed. My host was always available for a chat and his staff were always pleasant and attentive. Not fair to pick one but we felt Taylor was very pleasant. Plenty of parking around and loads to do.
