Know any thrill seekers who’d love to try out an Indiana Jones-style aerial adventure?
Or take a daring leap from a 15-metre high ledge?
Or whizz down the UK’s tallest indoor slide, again and again?
If so, then watch their face light up with this Big Deal from Climbzone in Braehead, which is suitable for both children and adults.
Based at intu Braehead, Climbzone is an electrifying indoor activity park with a climbing wall, aerial adventure course and massive slide.
Today’s Big Deal has four options and most are valid seven days a week until 31st March 2019.
As you can buy multiples, this would be perfect for a family day out as well.
Choose your own adventure
With option one you can try out two thrilling activities, choosing from Skypark, Climbing and the Drop.
With option two, you can try out all three of the above in one heart-pumping 90-minute session.
Option three is for four sessions at Climbzone’s After School Club, suitable for ages 6 to 16.
Option four is for 12 shots of the jaw-dropping Big Slide helter skelter.
Whichever option you pick, a qualified instructor will be on hand at all times to help you get into the swing of things.
Conquer the climbing wall
Climbzone offers three exciting activities for children and adults — the Climbing Wall, Skypark and the Drop.
They are all very safe, as instructors will be on hand to help. You will also be attached to an auto-belay which will gently lower you to the ground at the end.
On the Climbing Wall, you will get a chance to experience the world from a whole new perspective — several feet above the ground. Enjoy the surge of adrenaline as you climb higher and higher, seeing how far you can ascend…
The Climbing Wall has various difficulty levels, so beginners and kids can join in the fun as well.
Brave Skypark and The Drop
On the Skypark state-of-the-art aerial adventure course, you can enjoy 60 metres of daring Indiana Jones-style thrills.
Can you meet the challenge of swinging and balancing your way around obstacles like the zip slide, traverse wall, swinging platforms, cargo net, Burma bridge and more? There is only one way to find out…
Or are you courageous enough for The Drop? The easy part is getting clipped in — but once you’re at the edge and preparing to jump, the rest is up to you. Experience the thrill of taking that first step, then falling 15 metres to the ground…yikes! (Don’t worry though, you will be slowed to a gentle landing).
After School Club
If you choose option three, then children aged six to sixteen can enjoy four fully supervised After School Club adventures on Mondays and Wednesdays.
This is an ideal chance to introduce kids to the thrills of climbing while helping to build their confidence at the same time. You can also save your sessions for those dreaded rainy days.
Children are split into age groups and activities will include warm-ups, climbing, coaching and games.
Big Slide thrills
Whether you are a child or a child at heart, who wouldn’t love a shot on the UK’s tallest indoor slide? With option four, you will get 12 shots of this contemporary helter skelter.
Few things are more exhilarating than zooming down the corkscrew twists and turns of a 16-metre drop flume (then going back to the top to do it all over again).
Children under 1.1m must slide with an adult.
There is also a smaller, six-metre high version for younger kids (or those feeling a bit less brave), meaning no one has to miss out on the fun.
Climbzone has been picking up rave reviews on TripAdvisor:
‘Amazing. Visited with my granddaughter, aged 8 (I’m 70) and we had a great time. All the team there were great. Aerial path, climbing and the ‘drop’ at the end. She was fine and I couldn’t keep up with her. Me… I was nervous but Scott our patient instructor talked me round. I even did the ‘drop’ twice. Would thoroughly recommend it to everyone.’
‘Great family day out. Took a group of 7 along today and Jason was our guide. From the outset he was really patient and explained everything well for us. We opted for the 1 and a 1/2 hour experience, including climbing wall, Skypark and drop. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the adults in the group improved in confidence as the afternoon progressed! It is well worth the money and appeals to all age groups.’
‘Brilliant fun, well run and family friendly climbing centre. Visited the climbing wall recently with my two kids aged 7 & 9. Was made to feel very welcome by the team on the desk before being kitted up and shown the ropes by team member. Sam was great with the kids and patiently explained all the safety equipment, including the do’s and don’ts of the auto belay system. The kids absolutely loved it and were soon making good progress up the wall. A healthy, fun, confidence building activity in a friendly and safe environment — cant beat it!’
A Climbzone experience is perfect for thrill seekers of any age, so why not surprise a loved one with an extra exciting gift this year?
Plus as you can buy multiples, you could even treat your whole family and look forward to a heart-pounding adventure in the new year.
