At the time of writing, the skies are blue and there is a strange yellow thing in the sky. It is hot and people are going red.
We think this may be what is called a summer.
Avoid sunburn with today’s Big Deal on a session in the Baltic Ice Bar in Snow Factor in Soar at intu Braehead.
We’ve all been in bars where the atmosphere has been frosty. At the Baltic Ice Bar Glasgow, it’s truly sub zero.
In fact, the temperature is kept at a steady -5 degrees centigrade. The walls, bar, tables and even the glasses are all made of ice.
Reykjavik, Moscow, London and New York already have their own ice bars so it was inevitable that a city as cool as Glasgow (badoom tish!) would get in on the icy action.
Chill with today’s Big Deal on a session in the Baltic Ice Bar in Snow Factor in Soar at intu Braehead.
Available Thursday to Sunday evenings, the offer is for two, three or four people to enjoy a cocktail, a Coors Light or a shot in the ice bar which is located on the main snow slope.
Guests should check in at Bar Varia on the upper level of Snow Factor on arrival.
Wrap up warm
Your session will last 45 minutes. Snow Factor will provide a snug jacket for each guest and you are strongly advised to bring gloves. Did we mention that the glasses are made of ice?

You can also buy extra drinks tokens for use in the ice bar or Bar Varia.
Grin and bear it
Guests are welcome to snap their selfies with Baltic Betty the ice bear or sit on the Ice Throne and order their mates to fetch another drink.

‘A little bit different with great staff. We were met at the bar inside where we were kitted out with a warm overcoat and led down to the ice bar… We decided to go for the Anti Freeze cocktail which was delicious. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was brilliant. Definitely a “cool” place… I’d 100% go back again.’
‘Amazing. We were here for my sister’s hen do… treated like stars! Excellent service and drinks were so good, the photographer was so friendly and helpful and the bar man good craic! Will most definitely be back… favourite spot!!’
