Uplawmoor Hotel is a charming Renfrewshire village retreat that began its life back in 1759. Since then it has been welcoming weary travellers from far and wide for over two centuries.

The menu can change regularly, but starters might include the Chef’s chicken liver parfait with herb leaf salad, balsamic reduction, plum chutney & mini oatcakes, and the creamy garlic mushrooms with toasted garlic ciabatta grilled with cheese.

Mains could feature the Uplawmoor chicken & leek pie with creamy white wine sauce, puff pastry, mashed potatoes, sautéed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, and the freshly battered haddock with hand cut chips, mushy peas & tartare sauce.

‘Booked this hotel for one night… hotel was quiet and clean even although it was a quiz night in the lounge. Lovely cocktail bar with open flame fire and the evening meal was great. Staff were helpful, especially Yvonne who served our dinner and breakfast. Cannot fault the hotel for the price, have paid more for room only in other places. Staff gave us a bucket of ice for the room, something that has been declined in other places… will return again.’
