At the same time, we also like some traditions. Like a slap-up Sunday lunch.

Enjoy the tradition of a great Sunday lunch in the beautiful new surrounds of VISTA restaurant, part of the recently refurbished Gleddoch golf and spa resort by Langbank.

Once the home of the shipping baron, Sir William Lithgow, Gleddoch sits in over 360 acres of countryside.

And the aptly named VISTA restaurant has gorgeous views of most of it with the River Clyde, Ben Lomond and the rolling hills of Renfrewshire all catching the eye.

As we mentioned, the hotel had a multi-million pound refurbishment at the end of 2016/beginning of 2017 and it all looks as spectacular as its surroundings.

Lunch for two

Available from noon to last orders at 3pm on Sundays, the offer is for two people to enjoy a splendid Sunday lunch.

Starters

Seasonal soup of the day

Traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, wholegrain mustard sauce

Prawn cocktail

Mains

Roast sirloin of beef or roast chicken served with roast potatoes, roast root vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy (Roast beef supplement £2)

Seared fillet of hake, spring onion mash, poached egg, white wine cream

Risotto of seasonal mushrooms, parmesan and rocket

Guests can also follow up with a dessert, priced at £4.95, choosing from dishes such as sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream; dark chocolate brownie and chocolate sauce; or a selection of cheese and biscuits.

Sunday lunch with family or friends

Gleddoch is on Old Greenock Road at Langbank in Renfrewshire, around a twenty minute drive from Glasgow city centre. It has ample car parking.

All of which means that VISTA is very convenient for a Sunday day out.

A short drive, appetite-sharpening stroll around the grounds – perhaps even a round on the Championship golf course – and then a magnificent Sunday lunch. It’s what Sundays were made for.
