‘Now give me Moness, that’s what I want’ sang The Beatles.
They were of course referring to the Moness Resort in Aberfeldy, with its pampering spa treatments, stylish lunches and rolling Perthshire countryside.
Today’s Big Deal for a spa day package would make a lovely present for anyone who enjoys swimming pools, Scottish scenery and special days out.
Soothing spa experience
Set in Highland Perthshire in the heart of Scotland, Moness Resort is relaxing a four star spa hotel. You will have access to the leisure club as part of your package, meaning you can bliss yourself out in the swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
Fluffy towels and robes will be provided, of course.
This Big Deal is available seven days a week and you have two options for either one or two people, all of which include a two course spa lunch in the newly-refurbished Uisge Bar & Restaurant.
Options one and two are for a choice of one treatment lasting 30 minutes, for one or two people.
Options three and four are for a choice of two treatments lasting 60 minutes in total, for one or two people.
Choose from the following treatments:
Polynesia back treatment
Thalgo marine facial
Indian head massage
File & polish on hands or feet
Time to unwind
To help you pick your treatments, here are more details:
Polynesia back treatment – this will take you on an exotic journey using the White Sands from Bora Bora Island (OK, we’re sold already). First, your back will be gently exfoliated with Polynesia sacred oil from the island of Raiatea. After this, an Exotic Island body scrub will leave your skin smooth supple and soft. Then a Mahan massage oil will be rubbed into your skin for an incredibly relaxing massage using specialised Hawaiian techniques.
Thalgo marine facial – a moisture boosting delight for all skin types. This facial ritual will begin with a signature Heart of the Ocean massage. Your skin will be gently cleansed and exfoliated, followed by a moisturising mask for intense and lasting hydration. To finish, a Hydra Marine 24-hour gel cream will be applied to your skin, leaving it smooth, plump and radiant.
Indian head massage – this massage increases nourishment and oxygen to the scalp and hair follicles, which stimulates hair growth. Indian head massage also stimulates lymphatic drainage and blood flow to the neck, helping to remove waste products from the body.
Reflexology – This is an ancient therapy which uses the feet, hands or face as maps of the body’s organs. By working on the reflex points, the body’s own self-healing powers are stimulated.
File & polish on hands or feet – either your fingernails or toenails will be filed and shaped, with a single splash of your colour choice applied.
What’s it to be? Decisions, decisions.
A lunch with a view
Your two course lunch for one or two people will be served in the newly-refurbushed Uisge Bar & Restaurant, an informal bistro-style restaurant. Uisge is a friendly and relaxed spot to unwind after your pampering, plus it has a great view over the swimming pool.
Menu items can change, but typical starters might include chicken liver pâté with oatcakes and house chutney or feta & red onion tartlet with balsamic dressed salad.
Mains might feature a toasted roast beef sandwich with wholegrain mustard mayo & fries, the lemongrass & chilli fishcakes with dressed salad and sweet chilli dip, or chargrilled Caesar salad with rustic croutons and shaved Parmesan.
Moness Resort spa has gained some positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Here are some recent ones, edited for length:
‘We attended here for a lovely spa day. The facilities are great. We had two treatments each. The massage was brilliant…everyone was so friendly. We all enjoyed the swimming pool and had a lovely lunch. The food was very good. There were places to just lounge also. Overall a great day.’ Rating 5/5
‘The resort seemed clean and well kept…deal included a treatment and two course lunch. Both opted for 30 min massage which was very good and lunch was also very tasty. Got use of the facilities, although were disappointed that there wasn’t a gym, and the swimming pool isn’t designed for exercising and was full of kids. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were good though. Was a gift, however would purchase again as it was a nice day.’ Rating 5/5
‘Went to this Spa for the day and it was great. The treatments were so relaxing and we enjoyed them so much. To top it off we got to use the amazing spa facilities all day afterwards. Very peaceful place and it wasn’t that busy which made it even more relaxing. We had lunch and the barman made us personalized cocktails which were lovely and the food was delicious too. All in all a great day out!’ Rating 5/5
This Big Deal for a spa day at Moness would make a lovely gift for anyone who likes a bit of pampering.
If you choose the one person option, they’ll get to unwind and enjoy some me-time. If you choose the package for two people, then they might just take you along too.
Which would be nice.
