Ballathie House is something of a star of the Scottish hospitality industry, racking up the awards. It’s easy to see why.
Dating from 1880, the country house hotel combines Victorian baronial splendour with a very contemporary approach to comfort. The tranquil grounds of the private riverside estate offer the perfect option for a relaxed stay.
Available seven days a week, today’s Big Deal is very flexible.
Option one is for two people to enjoy an overnight break in a Classic or Riverside bedroom at Ballathie House, with full Scottish breakfast and a bottle of wine on arrival, available Sunday to Thursday. Option two is the same and valid Friday to Saturday.
Option three includes a two course dinner each. Note that wine is not included with this option.
The hotel’s bedrooms are individually-styled, combining traditional country house period décor with modern touches; trouser press, hairdryer, telephone, Freeview TV, WiFi and tea and coffee facilities.
Stylish dining
Among the hotel’s accolades are a couple of AA rosettes for the dining. The restaurant has views over the Tay, and the menus reflect the best of local and seasonal produce.
Head Chef Scott Scorer offers a contemporary take on classic cuisine, with lunch and dinner menus that change daily. Expect local venison, woodland game, trout and salmon, Scottish beef and seasonal produce to crop up regularly on the menus.
Out and about
Ballathie House Hotel is located in Kinclaven, Stanley, just 30 minutes from Perth. Nearby attractions include several scenic and challenging golf courses along with some of Scotland’s finest fishing and game shooting facilities.

Option 3 is for 2 people to have an overnight stay in a double or twin Classic or Riverside bedroom with full Scottish breakfast + 2 course set dinner each. Available 7 days a week. There is a £40 supplement for stays on this option on Fridays & Saturdays; payable directly to the hotel.

Children welcome; 12 years and under will be charged £20 per child per night (B&B). Max of 1 child. Children are not permitted in the restaurant after 7pm.
There are a limited number of rooms available that can accommodate an extra bed for children – please contact the hotel directly before booking.
Dogs are permitted, £20 per dog per stay; max of 1 dog per room or 2 dogs by arrangement with hotel. Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant, bar and drawing room.
All supplements are payable direct to the hotel.
