The strange thing about the Christmas holidays is that the run-up to them is often exhausting while the aftermath can leave you feeling frazzled.
Happily, today’s Big Deal from Crieff Hydro resort can cast a warm glow of relaxation over both periods.
Valid Sunday to Thursday, from now until 23 March 2016, this offer is the perfect time out from the pre-Christmas hurly-burly.
It would also make a superb Christmas present. A Perthshire getaway is just the ticket to brighten up the early part of 2016.
Within easy reach of Glasgow and Edinburgh, the four star Crieff Hydro is much loved by generations of Scottish holiday makers.
It’s also been a big hit at awards ceremonies. In the last few years, it has scooped the following titles: Most Hospitable Hotel; Spa of the Year and Family Hotel of the Year.
Set in a 900 acre estate, Crieff Hydro hotel started life in 1868 to offer water cures to its guests. The Lagoon Pool, saunas and splendid Victorian Spa are still a big draw for guests looking to enjoy themselves – only these days the waters are kept at a rather warmer temperature than the bracing chill which the Victorians aimed for.
Both options are available Sunday to Thursday and include a bottle of chilled Prosecco in your room on arrival and full use of the Lagoon Pool and gym during your stay.
Option one is for two people to enjoy an overnight stay in a double room with a full Scottish breakfast and a two course table d’hôte dinner in the Meikle Restaurant.
Guests are also welcome to choose to eat at any of the hotel’s other dining option using a £20 per person dining allowance rather than taking dinner in the Meikle Restaurant.
Option two is for a two night dinner, bed and breakfast stay with the option of a two course table d’hôte dinner in the Meikle Restaurant each evening or a £20 per person, per night, dining allowance.
£20 to spend on food in any of the resort’s dining options during dinner service.
It could be a pizza in Piccolo or a romantic evening meal in the splendour of The Meikle. The choice is entirely yours.
Go wild in the country
Families can enjoy the relaxed surroundings, including the leisure pool, gym, cinema and daily entertainment programme.
If you want to explore the resort’s 900 acre estate then taking a Segway out for a scoot is one of the most enjoyable ways imaginable to see the sights.
And that’s just one of the sixty indoor and outdoor activities available.
Swimming pool, gym, spa, tennis courts, 18-hole golf course, activity centre and riding centre, the list goes on.
Children will be charged the following supplements:
Aged 0-1 years, stay for free;
Aged 2-11 years, charged £15 for one night, £25 for two nights. Includes breakfast, children’s high tea and three hours per day supervised care in BIG Country child care centre;
Aged 12-16 years, charged £30 for 1 night, £55 for 2 nights. Includes breakfast and 2 course dinner in Meikle Restaurant or £20 per night allowance for dining allocation.
Adults only Victorian Spa
Open morning, noon and night, the tranquil, adults-only Victorian Spa is the most relaxing place on the Crieff Hydro resort.
For a small fee, guests can take a swim in the heated pool beneath the glorious ceiling paintings (best viewed while doing backstroke) and then soothe any aches and pains in the sauna, steam room or spa bath.
Guests are welcome to hydrate with the complimentary fruit and drinks. Or simply get laid-back on a lounger – reading, daydreaming and dozing are all fully encouraged.
This offer is a brilliant way to get away from it all and enjoy a break with a loved one or a friend. Crieff Hydro has been spoiling its guests for nearly 150 years. These are highlights from recent reviews:
‘Great hotel and spa… The food is excellent, as is the choice of local whiskies, and there are a great number of activities from which to choose whilst you stay in the hotel, from spa and pool, through Segway tours, high climb activities, and paintball.’
‘Beautiful place, full of things to do.’
‘There truly is something for everyone. We enjoyed walking around the hotel grounds and sitting outside admiring the view. We had dinner in the Meikle Restaurant which we thought was lovely. Room was a decent size with everything we needed.’
Christmas gift idea
As we mentioned vouchers are valid until the 23rd of March 2016 making this offer ideal as a generous Christmas present.
Alternatively, buy one now and grab yourself a break from the pre-Christmas rush – the Christmas card list can wait.
