Romantic escape

Built in the 17th century as part of the Atholl Estate, East Haugh House is an atmospheric four-star hotel in Pitlochry. It has scooped multiple awards for its hospitality, dining and fishing, so you’ll be in safe hands.

Guests can sample seasonal cuisine in the excellent restaurant, relax in front of the fireplace or stroll around the two acres of gardens.

All of the individually designed bedrooms have charming Victorian touches, as well as an ensuite bathroom, flat screen TV, luxury toiletries, fluffy white towels, free WiFi and tea & coffee making facilities.

Quirkily, all rooms are named after classic salmon fishing flies.

One or two night stay

This Big Deal has six options:

Option one is for an overnight stay for two, available seven days a week from January to March 2020. Option two is the same, but for December 2019.

Option three adds a second night to the December 2019 stay.

Option four is for an overnight stay for two, including dinner, available seven days a week from January to March 2020.

Option five is for a two night stay for two, and option six adds on dinner on the first night, both available seven days a week from January to March 2020.

All options include a full cooked Scottish breakfast each morning, with guests staying in a small twin, small double or classic cosy room.

There is a supplement of £20 for Friday stays and £40 for Saturdays, payable directly to the hotel.

There are a number of room upgrades available, subject to availability, with supplements per room, per night payable to the hotel.

Delicious dining

If you choose options three or five, you will receive a £25 per person spend a la carte spend in the hotel’s award-winning Two Sisters restaurant.

The menu showcases seasonal flavours crafted by a first class team, including acclaimed Head Chef Neil McGown and Scotland’s Sous-chef of the Year, Steven Fleetham.

Typical mains might include slow-braised shoulder of Balmacolly Farm lamb; haggis, neeps ‘n’ tatties with local whisky & shallot cream sauce, and seasonal gnocchi using local produce from Fonab Farm.

Golfing, fishing and whisky

There is plenty to do in this peaceful Perthshire area.

You can enjoy fishing on the River Tay, golfing on the Pitlochry course and whisky tasting at Edradour Distillery. The House of Bruar is nearby for shopping as well.

Or you could just take a romantic woodland stroll together followed by a drink in the hotel’s bar.
