For most of us, the motorist experience involves little more exciting than a tailback on the M8. For anyone with petrolhead tendencies, a little escapism is more than welcome.
Shift through the gears then and take advantage of today’s Big Deal, inviting you along to Super Sonic Saturday, a high-octane opportunity to see some of the world’s sexiest supercars and seductive sports models on show in what looks like Scotland’s highlight of the year for motor sports enthusiasts.
Built for speed
Organised by supercar experience specialists Performance Portfolio, Super Sonic Saturday takes place on Saturday May 20 at the RAF Leuchars airbase near St Andrews. It promises thrills, speed and the chance to ogle some seriously beautiful bodywork.
The Big Deal option one offers a single spectator ticket to Super Sonic Saturday. Option two offers a family ticket for two adults and two children aged between 5 and 16. Under 5s go free.
The main event for many may be the passenger laps in a McLaren P1, but there are plenty of exhibits and activities to occupy your day (the event starts at 8am and continues to 8pm).
Performance Portfolio is offering Lamborghini Aventador SV passenger laps to 5pm customers at a reduced rate of £29.
It’s a great opportunity to experience the thrill of a ride in one of Italy’s finest sports cars, without having to wait for a lottery win.
Those who like to ooh and aah at beautiful machines can admire the exhibits, which will include examples from Kawasaki UK, Suzuki, Tesla, Jordan F1, A F Noble Nissan and BMW among others.
All the action can be viewed on the big screens so you won’t miss a thing. There is also a hospitality tent and on-site catering. Heliscot will provide helicopter rides, if you fancy an aerial perspective.
Proceeds from the event will be supporting the Army and RAF benevolent fund.
