All of the Big Deals are designed to make our customers feel as though they are floating on air.
Literally in the case of this offer from Hovercraft Scotland.
If you have ever wondered what it would be like to pilot your own hovercraft, this Big Deal will give you wings.
More specifically, you will learn how to master an Eagle 447 Hovercraft. Flying on a cushion of air, inches above the ground, you will whizz over and around obstacles on a series of specially designed and purpose-built hovercraft courses.
Feel the speed
Available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the offer is for one person to have a one hour hovercraft experience from Hovercraft Scotland at Strathaven Airfield.
Located around 40 minutes south of Glasgow, the airfield has a number of purpose-built courses designed to test your hovercraft skills.
Your experience will begin with a comprehensive lesson in how to manoeuvre your hovercraft.
The fully trained instructors will teach you the skills required to control the hovercraft at different speeds.
This will take place over three specially designed training courses followed by time trials around the hovercraft course.
Hopefully, by the end of your session, you will be good enough to get into the top ten fastest lap times.
Learn to hover – no bovver!
This hovercraft experience takes guests through four unique stages in a bid to make you a race ace!
Hovercraft are like no other vehicle. The steering is quirky and they have no brakes so the first challenge is simply learning how to stop, start and turn.
Your second task will see you honing your skills on the slalom course, weaving in and out of the poles and then making a high-power run back to the start.
At this point, you should be ready for a round-the-paddock run, through various gates. This is a chance to demonstrate your mastery of power and control.
Between each of these stages, you will get a short break with time to watch your fellow participants and, hopefully, learn from their mistakes.
The Grand Finale of your experience is two timed circuits of Scotland’s only purpose-built cross-country hovercraft track.
With no less than three water features, it’s a blast which will test all your skills and instincts.
Not many people can say that they have flown a hovercraft. Those that have tend to rave about it as these TripAdvisor reviews show:
‘Great fun. Spent a few hours here hovercrafting with three other friends and had a blast. We started out on a training course where we got a hang for the basics, and the courses got progressively faster and complicated before moving onto the final track. Our master hovercrafters Josh and Sam were fantastic. Highly recommended. A very unique and fun experience!’
‘Absolutely brilliant! Something completely different and exercised the brain too. Driving/piloting/controlling a hovercraft is like nothing I’d done before… will be back.’
Flying a hovercraft is a real thrill and this uplifting offer from Hovercraft Scotland means lots of people can enjoy it.
This Big Deal would be ideal for a birthday gift, a family day out, a stag or hen do or simply because you want to experience the excitement of skimming over the ground at speed in your own hovercraft.
Book in and buckle up.
