Visitors to Amsterdam are never going to be short of entertainment. From gazing at the Rembrandts in the Rijksmuseum to goggling at the sights in the Red Light District, there is a well-worn traditional tourist trail.
To get a sense of the city’s true character though, a wander along the canals and cool alternative shops in the Jordaan, or a stroll through the Vondelpark reveal the more reticent charms of Amsterdam.
The city’s markets are also a great option to shop for everything from antiques to hand-made clothing and jewellery. The Waterlooplein market in particular is a great option for unearthing bargains.
Corendon Vitality Hotel has many very positive reviews on TripAdvisor – the hotel currently has an average rating of four stars out of five from 1715 reviews.

‘My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very easily accessible and close to city centre as well. The staff at the hotel were brilliant we do not have any complaints at all and will definitely be staying here every time I come to Amsterdam!’
‘As we pulled up I was shocked at how lovely the hotel looked. Even the outside was pristine. Walking in for check in we were greeted by many happy faces happy to help us in anyway we needed. The staff were very helpful with looking into which trams / buses we needed to get etc for the throughout of our trip. The hotel room was immaculate, had everything needed and was a good size. The interior decoration was lovely, everything I could have hoped for a hotel room. The food bar downstairs was very good pricing and the food was lovely! The cleaners are very polite, one knocked on the door while I was asleep and I said no need to clean as I was still in bed, yet she said she’d come back when I’d gone out for the day – in which I went out mid afternoon, came back and the cleaner had blitzed my room and gave me new towels and bedding etc. 100% would recommend.’
Winter in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is simply gorgeous in winter. The open fires roar in the cosy pubs, the city is covered in twinkling fairy lights, and if the temperature is less than minus four for four nights in a row you can go ice skating on the canals! As it’s outside peak tourist season you could enjoy the pretty city without the crowds.
Beat the January blues and treat yourself to this trip to wonderful Amsterdam. With flights and accommodation taken care of all you’d need to think about is having a great time.
