Gothenburg is actually a bit of a foodie enclave, as it has no less than six Michelin starred restaurants (unusual for a city of its size). While there, make sure to try out local delicacies such as pickled herring, oysters, sea salt chocolate and coffee with cinnamon buns.

Avenyn Boulevard is a key spot for shopping and nightlife, plus it’s also worth heading to the atmospheric candlelit pubs in the historic Haga district. Or you could explore the achingly hip Majorna neighbourhood if the mood takes you.

Visitor highlights include Gothenburg Botanical Garden, the Liseberg amusement park, the Universeum science centre with its rainforest zone and the riverside oasis of King’s Park. The 18th century Museum of Gothenburg charts a staggering 12,000 years of the area’s history.

Breakfast here had a massive selection, you will not go hungry, let’s put it that way. I also love the fact that this hotel (and most of Sweden) are cash-free, I wish I could move there. The eco-friendly policies are great and more hotels need to get on board with this. When I come back to Gothenburg I will be staying here.’

Lounge is super nice, could almost have stolen the furniture and those rope lamps. Such a good stay, they even have nice restaurant called OGBG located right next to lobby. Located by the water, good spot for morning walks & not too far from city centre.’
