Golden beaches and historic treasures
Malaga might be known for its gorgeous seafront, but there is also plenty to enjoy by way of culture, history and dining as well.
From tucked away tapas bars to a handful of Michelin star restaurants, you certainly won’t go hungry. And of course, as this is the Costa Del Sol you will have your pick of beach bars and clubs to hit afterwards.
In terms of history, an unmissable sight is the dramatic Moorish hilltop fortress of Alcazaba, which dates back to the 11th century. Other must-sees include the Roman amphitheatre, Picasso Museum and Renaissance cathedral. Or you could just sip a traditional sweet wine in Malaga’s own artsy Soho area, named after the London district.
In Torremolinos itself, you can spend a day trying out the slides and wave machine in Aqualand Water Park. Or you could head to the Crocodile Park (which even has a petting area) or spend a day strolling around the landscaped botanical gardens, which includes a tranquil Japanese area.
These TripAdvisor reviewers loved their stay at Hotel Los Jazmines:
‘Going next year for the fifth time, right in the centre of the beach area of Torremolinos, staff ever so friendly, the addition of a roof terrace area is excellent, can’t wait to go back, just love the place.’
‘Great hotel, good location. Small friendly hotel, spotlessly clean. Good food selection, with attentive waiter. Great rooftop cocktail bar with spectacular views. Situated on seafront, close to many bars and restaurants, and a short walk to centre.’
‘I spent 3 days in the apartment in this hotel with my friends and we were very satisfied. The rooms are small, but very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful… and that smelling garden!’
