Explore Béziers and Languedoc
Béziers is one of the most underrated destinations in the south of France. With a gothic cathedral, pretty squares, a palm tree lined esplanade, and streets lined with magnificent buildings, it is a gorgeous town to explore.
Its 13th century cathedral which is perched on top of a hill has spectacular views of the River Orb and vine dominated landscape.
Béziers will also be of interest to history buffs; the town was founded by the Romans, razed to the ground during the Albigensian Crusade and is the birthplace of World World Two resistance hero Jean Moulin as well as Paul Riquet who constructed the Canal du Midi, a huge canal in Southern France.
Béziers also acts as a base for those who wish to explore the surrounding southern Languedoc region. Neighbour to the far more touristy Provence region, Languedoc is described as the ‘French Tuscany’ due to its forest clad rolling hills and its vineyards. Languedoc also boasts the addition of white sandy beaches due to its position on the coast.
Languedoc is also an excellent destination for wine buffs due to its multiple vineyards.
Zénitude Béziers Centre has had a very positive reception on TripAdvisor with an average rating of 4 stars out of 5 from 81 reviews.

‘Good rooms and good location close to city centre with off-street parking for a small extra fee and reasonably fast internet connection. After having tried a couple of other hotels in Béziers, I have found this place the best in terms of value for money and keep returning for a number of years now.’
‘The hotel was only a five minute walk from the bus station and quite close to a supermarket. On arrival the staff were very helpful and friendly, giving me all the information I needed. The room was a good size, as was the shower room. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. I also had a kitchenette which was great, and included microwave, a hot plate, a fridge and a corkscrew and glasses. I used this one night when it was too wet to go out. The hotel is under ten minutes walk Irom the centre of town and the bars and cafes.’
