‘Great place to use as a base for touring. My partner and I stayed here last weekend as part of a deal that offered bed and breakfast, dinner one night and a bottle of wine. We got all that and were perfectly happy with everything we experienced. This is a large hotel, with an enormous restaurant and lounge. It was obviously designed with coach parties in mind and, without them, it can feel empty and devoid of character… Our room was comfortable, with a welcome ability to open the window completely so we could get as much fresh air as we wanted. The hot water was hot – very hot – but that was manageable. Drinks prices were very reasonable… Breakfast was plentiful, well cooked and quickly served. Dinner was tasty, but I did think that the hotel could benefit from a more comprehensive menu… We enjoyed our stay and will probably be back, because this can be a great base for exploring an enchanting part of Argyll.’
