Tulloch Castle

Tulloch Castle in Dingwall has its roots in the 12th century, believed to have originally been a fortress established by Norse raiders. It has had a rich and eventful history over the last 900 years, giving rise to plenty of colourful ghost stories.

Tall tales aside, the fact is that Tulloch is a gloriously romantic destination for a break in the Highlands, hence today’s Big Deal, offering exactly that.

Highland break

Tulloch Castle, situated on a forested hillside north of Dingwall, is blessed with plenty of distinctive historic features, notably the 250-year old panelled Great Hall and beautifully restored original fireplaces and ceilings.

Guest facilities are thoroughly 21st century however. Tulloch Castle has twenty well appointed en-suite bedrooms, all with their own unique character and charm.

Available seven nights, the Big Deal option one is for two people to enjoy an overnight stay in a double or twin at Tulloch Castle, with full Scottish breakfast and a bottle of house wine in the room on arrival.

Option two is for a two night stay with full Scottish breakfast both mornings and a three-course dinner on the first night, served in the Turrets Restaurant.

Subject to availability rooms may be upgraded to family or four-poster rooms at a supplementary charge.

Highland produce

Only the best, freshly prepared Highland produce is served in the atmospheric Turrets Restaurant. Menus vary according to seasonal availability but expect local beef, venison, haggis and salmon.

Recent highlights have been starters of duck pate or haggis bonbons, mains of slow braised feather blade of beef with ox cheek, or baked salmon fillet with crushed baby potatoes, and dessert choices that included crème brulee and cheesecake.

You can round off your evening relaxing in front of a roaring log fire with a fine malt from the vast selection in the Green Lady Bar.
