Discreetly luxurious, the five star Rocpool Reserve & Chez Roux in the heart of Inverness have won several awards over the last few years.
Among others, these include the Style Hotel of the Year; the Boutique Hotel of the Year and the Condé Nast Johansens title for the Most Excellent UK City Hotel.
It is an impressive haul and the awards only tell part of the story. Featuring bold, contemporary design and striking modern art, this welcoming boutique hotel also has many admirers on TripAdvisor and other review sites.

Rocpool Reserve is a member of The Collection, a group of small, luxury hotels under the management of ICMI.
Chez Roux is the hotel’s restaurant from the legendary French chef Albert Roux. The chef describes it as offering ‘good and honest country cooking… Scottish ingredients with a French twist’.
The menus change regularly. This might mean starters such as the treacle-cured organic salmon with a horseradish cream, red onion and caper dressing and main courses like the rare breed pork loin served with creamed leeks, pancetta and a red wine jus
There is also the option to dine in the sophisticated r Bar at the hotel. A cosmopolitan cocktail bar, the r Bar offers a RouXpress menu as well as a selection of more traditional bar classics.
See & do
Rocpool Reserve is situated in the heart of Inverness just a few minutes walk from the High Street and Inverness Castle.
Naturally, there are plenty of nearby opportunities for golfers to follow their calling. The surrounding countryside also offers dolphin-spotting, distillery visits, walks in the Cairngorms National Park and, of course, sightseeing around Loch Ness.
Rocpool Reserve & Chez Roux pride themselves on the high quality of the service they provide as well as the sophistication of the accommodation and high quality of the dining on offer.
That professionalism is reflected in the great number of glowing reviews they get. This recent review is from TripAdvisor:
‘A dream of a hotel… The room was gorgeous and very spacious. When we first entered our room, the bathroom (which was spa-like with a separate bath and shower) and wardrobe were on that level. When we walked up a few steps, we had a beautiful and spacious room with a king-size bed, couch and fireplace. Even though there are only about eleven rooms in the hotel, it is run as any large five star hotel would be run. We had dinner and breakfast at the Rocpool. Service is extraordinary as is the food. My only regret is that we only stayed there one night. It spoiled me for all of the B&Bs that came afterward!’
