When Charlie Chaplin was at the height of his fame, he would take his family to stay at The Newton Hotel in Nairn each year.
Set in 21 acres of mature parkland and overlooking the Moray Firth to the Black Isle, The Newton Hotel gave the comedian the peace and tranquillity which Hollywood couldn’t provide.
Follow in Chaplin’s foot steps and book yourself a refreshing mini-break with today’s Big Deal at The Newton Hotel.
In the Highland town of Nairn, The Newton Hotel is around fourteen miles from Inverness and what feels like a long way from the hassle of the Central Belt.
Originally built in the 17th century, it combines highland heritage with 21st century comforts such as complimentary WiFi.
Well appointed rooms
Available seven days a week, this brilliant Big Deal is for two people to spend two consecutive nights in a double or twin room with a full Scottish breakfast each morning.
Elegantly furnished and all ensuite, the hotel’s bedrooms have facilities such as a hot drinks tray, WiFi, iron and board plus room service.
Three course dinner
On the first night, the offer also includes a three course dinner in the hotel’s Chaplin Restaurant. Proud holders of an AA Rosette, the restaurant makes best use of all the fine Scottish produce which is reared, hunted, fished and harvested from the surrounding sea and land.
More informal meals are available in the hotel’s lounge bar.
See & do
With miles of sandy beaches by Nairn and the Cairngorms nearby, visitors will have no shortage of great walks in the surrounding areas. Guests might also enjoy following the Speyside whisky trail, watching dolphins in the Moray Firth or playing a round on Nairn Championship Golf Course.
Plenty of guests have left enthusiastic reviews of their time at The Newton Hotel on TripAdvisor. This recent review is very comprehensive:
‘Superb, post New Year chill out. My family, friends and I have just spent a leisurely three nights DBB at the Newton Hotel. The staff at the hotel were all very mannerly and efficient. Nothing was a bother to them and they were most helpful with the few queries we raised with them. The manager always seemed to be on the go somewhere in the hotel and gave a welcoming acknowledgement any time he met you. We have been in many four star hotels over the years and we all agreed it is a long time since we had such efficient and pleasant service. The food served in the Chaplin Restaurant each evening was a ‘look forward to experience’ and the breakfast served in the dining room first class. Keep up the good work, we will be back.’
Mr Chaplin visited The Newton Hotel to take a break and recharge his batteries with his loved ones. You can do the same this spring with today’s Big Deal on a two night mini-break.
