In recent years, the rest of the world has wrestled tapas away from the clutches of Spain. Whether it’s Italian, Japanese or Indian, everyone’s doing their own version.
So why not Glasgow, we ask you? Doesn’t the city’s classic comfort food deserve to be celebrated in small plate portions?
We certainly think so, as do the team at new Candleriggs restaurant, Locarno. That’s why they are offering a Glasgow tapas board for two with today’s Big Deal.
And if that wasn’t fan dabi dozi enough, prosecco will also be thrown in as well.
Know any proud Glaswegians who would treasure this dining gift for Christmas?
Tuck into Glasgow tapas
Locarno is a newly launched dining spot that has replaced the very popular Guy’s restaurant. It is run by Chef Audrius, who previously led the kitchen at Guy’s and is bringing his signature fresh, simple and flavoursome fare to this latest venture.
Be the first of your friends to try it out with this Big Deal of Glasgow tapas for two plus a glass of prosecco each.
This offer is available Sunday to Friday until the 28th of March 2019.
Choice of platters
Option one is for a Glasgow Tapas Board each, which includes Aberdeen Angus steak pie, mince & tatties, Macsweens haggis clapshot with whisky gravy and Glasgow salad.
Option two is for a Grand Glasgow Tapas Board to share, which includes Aberdeen Angus steak pie, macaroni cheese, house prawn cocktail, seared scallop; mini fish supper with haddock goujons, pickled onion and minted mushy peas; Stornoway black pudding with potato scone, and Macsweens haggis clapshot with whisky gravy, mince & tatties and Glasgow Salad.
Oh, and if you’re not familiar with the term ‘Glasgow salad’, it means chips.
Located in the heart of Candleriggs, Locarno is a shimmering space of chandeliers, mirrors and candlelight, perfect for an intimate date or gossipy catch up with a friend.
If you’re travelling into Glasgow, it is just a ten-minute walk from both Queen Street and Glasgow Central stations. It is also very handy for the Tron Theatre, City Halls/Old Fruitmarket and Gallery of Modern Art.
You can find pay parking at Q-Park on the same street.
Fun Christmas gift for foodies
After the festive season is over, the best way to beat the new year doldrums is to have a special dining treat lined up.
And what better than a tapas selection of everyone’s favourite Glasgow comfort food combined with fizz? We can’t think of a jollier way to embrace 2019.
This Big Deal would also make a unique Christmas gift for your favourite foodie.
