Handpicked for you – curated deals for 5pm customers
We like a foam swoosh on a slate as much as the next fashion-conscious food lover.
There are other times when nothing hits the sweet spot quite as effectively as our old friend fish ‘n’ chips. Especially when accompanied by a nice, chilled Prosecco.
Feel those pesky New Year resolutions slip away with today’s Handpicked Deal from The Finnieston.
Taking its name from the hip and fashionable area in which it sits, The Finnieston Bar and Restaurant is a safe haven for seafood lovers.
Cosy wooden booths, a few tiled walls, storm lamps, rigging and fishing photos all lend an appropriately nautical theme. An open fire keeps it all cosy.
Available seven days, this offer comes in two forms – both for two people to each have fish and chips. Option one includes a glass of Prosecco each, and option two has a bottle of Prosecco to share.
Your fish and chips will be served with pea purée and tartare sauce. Of course, the chips are handcut.
The Finnieston has many admirers on TripAdvisor. We have edited the following for length:
‘This is a fine restaurant to visit if you particularly like seafood… The restaurant has real character and a log fire was very welcome on a cold night. One to return to.’
‘Always perfect. Lovely atmosphere, great service and great food… I never leave disappointed.’
This review made us laugh:
‘We had absolutely no idea this was mainly a seafood restaurant when we wandered in off the streets… the smell of freshly battered fish put me in the mood for fish and chips. BOOM it arrived and BOOM we both had a taste explosion in our mouths. The fish, the batter, the chips, the tartare sauce… and even the mushy peas were a solid 9.8 out of 10. The staff were friendly and made us feel very comfortable at the fire. We sat and smooched the night away. We will be back…’
It is looking as though this winter may cut up rough.
Happily, The Finnieston offers a cosy port in which to berth.
And, no matter how Baltic the weather gets, fish ‘n’ chips, Prosecco and an open fire will keep the chill at bay.
One to share with a friend or a great excuse for a cosy Sunday lunch with your other half.
