Imagine a world where you could enjoy the best of football and golf in one glorious combined activity.
It’s a big dream, but Footgolf Scotland were bold enough to dream it.
In essence, Footgolf is exactly as it sounds – a combination of Scotland’s two favourite sports in one.
So instead of pulling out a golf club, you just put on your boots and kick a football into a series of large holes dotted across a green.
Needless to say, it makes for a fun stag party, family day out or get-together with friends.
A match made in heaven
So how does it all work?
Basically, the aim of the game is to kick a football into a 21-inch hole. As with standard golf, the fewer the number of shots, the better your score. It sounds simple but there are lots of hazards along the way.
The game is suitable for everyone regardless of age, skillset or fitness level. It takes around two hours to play 18 holes.
Choice of Edinburgh or Glasgow
Available Sunday to Friday until the end of March 2020, the Big Deal is for an 18-hole round of foot golf with ball hire.
Option one is for either two adults and two kids, or one adult and three kids. Option two is for four adults.
You won’t have to travel too far as you can choose from two courses – Glasgow’s Linn Park or Edinburgh’s Vogrie Country Park.
Both locations have eating spots and free parking. Glasgow also has a bar with Sky Sports.
Day out with a difference
Planning a stag party? Looking for something to do with the kids? Or are you just long overdue a meetup with your mates?
With options for both children and adults, this Big Deal gives you the chance to try out a quirky new activity that could quickly become addictively fun.
Best of all, this finally ends the war between footie fans and golf lovers – now, they can wave an olive branch at each other and enjoy the best of both worlds in one game (awww).
