As Michael Bublé has pointed out, ‘Baby, it’s cold outside’. To be honest, ‘Baby, it’s Baltic’ might be more accurate.
Fortunately, we can always get a reminder of sunnier climes thanks to the Spanish tapas at Cubatas Tapas Bar and Restaurant.
Since launching on Elderslie Street last February, the Cubatas team have been busy bunnies.
Winning new friends, pleasing old customers and developing fresh and exciting recipes – they have barely drawn breath over the last eleven months.
If you haven’t been yet, today’s Big Deal is a great way to try out Cubatas Tapas Bar and Restaurant and see just why they are so popular.
Designed for two people and available seven days a week, today’s Big Deal is £9.99 for up to £20 worth of tapas from the a la carte menu at Cubatas.
With its stripped walls and slinky wooden bar, Cubatas looks very contemporary and that bang-up-to-date vibe continues on their menus.
The a la carte menu has plenty of traditional favourites such as chicken croquettes, Med-flavoured meatballs, tortilla and Serrano ham.
Naturally, garlic and chilli prawns; chorizo cooked in sherry and patatas bravas all feature prominently on the menu.
In addition, the a la carte selection also features a number of dishes which take a more innovative approach to tapas.
From crepes filled with sauteéd squid, prawns and onion in cream to a German-inspired dish of chicken cooked in beer, the kitchen brigade at Cubatas are always ready to surprise.
Cubatas has been open less than a year but it has already attracted enthusiastic reviews on 5pm where it has a healthy combined score of 4.2/5. These are a couple of the most recent:
‘Delicious. Absolutely fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the sangria was lovely and the service was spot on.’ Rating 5/5
‘Fantastic. Love this place, keep going back over and over. The food is lovely. They kept adding new things to the menu and there is already loads to choose from! And the service is great!’ Rating 5/5
Great night out
Get your 2015 off to tasty start with this Big Deal at Cubatas.
It would be perfect for a night out with friends or family; it’s a good excuse to dodge cooking and it would also be ideal for a bite before heading to a show at the King’s or The Hydro.
