In the Big Deal office, it’s reckoned that trying to choose between Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai food is like trying to choose which hand you want to keep.
As a general rule of thumb, we find it’s best to have them all.
Avoid difficult decisions by taking up today’s Big Deal with OKO, the Queen Street restaurant whose menu reads like a culinary greatest hits album from the Far East.
This cracking Big Deal is for one person to tuck into a main course, side dish and drink at the sleek and trendy OKO Express.
Diners have the run of the fantastic menu with just one restriction – the full OKO roll is not included although the half roll is.
That leaves Asian food fans with a rip-roaring choice. The main courses include rib eye beef teriyaki, spicy Korean chicken and the famous OKO green curry.
Sushi & sashimi
There are several noodle dishes; specials like the crispy duck roll or the bento boxes and a massive range of sushi and sashimi.
From octopus nigiri to tuna seaweed rolls via sparkling fresh seabass sashimi, it is a fish lover’s dream.
Of course, there is also the tempting selection of inside out rolls.
Just to make your choice that little bit more tricky, you can also have a side dish. What will it be – juicy, salty edamame beans, gyozo chicken dumplings, grilled chicken or salmon yakatori skewers – it’s up to you.
OKO has had plenty of happy diners who have left reviews on the 5pm site. This is what a couple of people thought of their experiences in the city centre restaurant:
‘Great service. Staff were really good and food arrived really quickly, plus OKO’s food always tastes great!’ Rating 4.8/5
‘Really nice. Lovely restaurant and great staff. We both got the bento box and we were full! Unlimited miso soup and green tea, yum!’ Rating 4/5
