Being petit is no bar to being beautiful. As proved with today’s Big Deal with the five star Cairn Lodge and Hotel in scenic Auchterarder.
Recently refurbished, The Cairn keeps it cosy with just ten rooms. Being bijou didn’t stop it from scooping the Style Hotel of the Year award at the recent Scottish Hotel Awards.
The prize was just one of eight taken by Aurora Hotels, the parent group of The Cairn Lodge and Hotel.
Previously a Victorian hunting lodge, The Cairn has undergone a multi-million pound makeover transforming it into a stunning, sleek hotel featuring eye-catching rooms, a stunning bar and grill as well as a separate luxury lodge house.
Just minutes from Gleneagles and some of Scotland’s most famous golf courses, The Cairn is Perthshire’s most recent and deliciously decadent five star hotel.
Available Sunday to Thursday, this relaxing offer is for two people to make the most of an overnight break in a deluxe double or twin room at The Cairn Lodge and Hotel. A full Scottish breakfast is included in the offer.
Seamlessly combining sleek lines and original features, the deluxe rooms at The Cairn offer sumptuous down duvets; deluxe bathrooms; king size beds; WiFi; a Bang and Olufsen music system plus a flat screen HDTV with DVD.
There may be the opportunity to upgrade to the hotel’s luxurious junior suite for a supplement of £70 per night. Ask when you make your booking.
A full Scottish breakfast is included in this brilliant offer. If you choose to take other meals in the hotel’s Grill Room then you are in for a great meal.
The menus in the restaurant are inspired by the legendary grill rooms of London and feature fine Scottish produce such as the beer-battered loin of Scrabster cod. Pride of place goes to the selection of aged Scotch beef cooked on the Josper Grill.
The sophisticated bar at The Cairn is also popular for pre-dinner cocktails; a nightcap or people-watching over afternoon tea.
See & do in Perthshire
Only an hour from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, The Cairn Lodge and Hotel is close to some of the finest inland golf courses in the world, such as Gleneagles, venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup, as well as Auchterarder and Whitemoss.
There are also brilliant opportunities for horse-riding, mountain biking; water sports and, of course, walking in the surrounding Perthshire countryside.
Since being refurbished last year, The Cairn Lodge and Hotel has been attracting hugely enthusiastic reviews. This recent TripAdvisor review is typical:
‘Beautiful hotel. Wow was my first impression! The decor, furniture and even the toilets have the wow factor. That was even before we went to our bedroom. Room 5 was huge, bath for two, TV enormous, bed huge and very comfortable, even a good hair dryer! We had dinner on the first night which was very good as were our breakfasts, plenty of choice. Oh and I must mention the cocktails which were carefully prepared by a charming young man… All the staff were great and are certainly one of the hotel’s best assets; this includes my contact before booking. We stay in many hotels and this one is refreshingly different and customer service is obviously very important…’
