Formerly a church, the Glasgow Mal is now a temple for great food, fine wines and some seriously slinky bedrooms.
This offer is for two people to enjoy a Sunday night stay in a superior double room. The offer includes a three course dinner in the hotel’s candlelit Brasserie; a full Scottish breakfast and a bottle of wine plus chocolate-dipped strawberries in your room on arrival.
Option 2 of this Big Deal offers all the great features but is for a Friday night stay.
The plush rooms at Malmaison are ideal for snuggling up in while the winter weather does its worst outside. Moody lighting, en-suite bathrooms with baths and power showers, CD players, satellite TV and fast and free internet access all add to their charms. Don’t forget, a bottle of wine and choc-dipped strawberries will be waiting in your room to help you settle in.
The Brasserie is in the building’s vaulted basement and it is a good looking, atmospheric space which specialises in hearty Scottish dishes and British classics.
The offer is for three courses from the popular prix-fixe menu. Individual dishes will change depending on what is in season but typical dishes might be starters such as the poached salmon rillettes with a chicory, sweetcorn and fennel salsa or the chicken liver parfait served with chutney and toasted brioche.
Popular main courses include choices like the pork and leek sausages with Pommery mash and an onion jus or the roast butternut squash risotto.
Leave some space for desserts such as the raspberry ripple profiteroles or the sticky toffee pudding with almond ice cream.
The Brasserie at Malmaison scores a confident 4.1/5 from 5pm restaurant customers and the hotel does well on TripAdvisor. This is what a recent guest had to say:
‘Yes, Yes, Yes. Very friendly and efficient staff. Clean, quiet and well appointed room. The first impression was a bit gloomy – but this was only due to trendy lighting and low energy light bulbs! Everything else was way above average. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous. A city centre hotel that serves fresh croissants and perfectly cooked eggs in the eggs Benedict. Bliss!’
