The famously bad poet William McGonagall once immortalised Crieff with the lines:
‘Ye lovers of the picturesque, if ye wish to drown your grief, Take my advice, and visit the ancient town of Crieff.’
From whisky distilleries to golf via gorgeous countryside, we can think of many other reasons to visit this beautiful Perthshire town.
The best reason of all is today’s poetic Big Deal on a relaxing overnight stay at the four star Knock Castle Hotel and Spa.
Enjoying panoramic views of its woodland grounds and Perthshire hills, Knock Castle Hotel and Spa is only a short drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh but its tranquil surrounds mean that it seems worlds away from the stress of the Central Belt.
Valid Sunday to Thursday, this Big Deal has two options.
Option one is for an overnight B&B stay in a Lomond Room within the main building or in one of the deluxe rooms in the Castle Lodge, which sits 200 yards through the hotel’s gardens.
Designed in the same luxurious style as the main building, the Lodge’s vast rooms are ideal for a couple looking to get away from it all and the building also features a cosy lounge, dining room and a lift to all floors.
A bottle of wine in your room on arrival will help you to settle in.
A full Scottish breakfast each morning is part of the deal as are two 30 minute spa treatments. Choose between a Back,Neck & Shoulder massage or Mini Facial.
Option two is for two people to enjoy an overnight break, Sunday to Thursday, in a Junior suite within the main building.
Recently refurbished to a very high standard, the Junior suites each feature a luxury lounge, separate bedroom and stylish bathrooms with spa baths.
As part of option two, a half bottle of Moet Champagne. will be waiting in your room when you arrive.
Also included in option two are two 45 minute spa treatments with the choice between a Back,Neck & Shoulder massage or Mini Facial.
Both options also give guests full use of the gym and pool complex which offers a wide range of facilities including sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and spa bath. The heated indoor pool has relaxing views onto the hotel’s wooded gardens.
Discount on further spa treatments
If you would like to indulge in more treatments from the spa therapists such as a deep thermal therapy, manicure or sea mud therapy wrap, then this offer entitles you to a 20% discount on the standard price.
As mentioned, a full Scottish breakfast is included in the deal and, if you also decide to take other meals at the hotel, then you can enjoy the superb views from the new Rooftop Restaurant. Freshly cooked, local produce takes pride of place on the menus.
Guests may also venture out onto the Rooftop Terrace to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink.
Knock Castle Hotel and Spa has earned lots of glowing reviews. This is what a recent guest had to say on TripAdvisor. We’ve edited for length:
‘What a great stay we had last Saturday evening. We had a beautiful room, with a cracking bathroom – perfect for a bit of pampering – and the comfiest hotel bed I think I’ve ever had! The pool, Jacuzzi and sauna were super. We had a very good meal on the Saturday evening and at breakfast could have eaten whatever we’d fancied. Last but by no means least, the staff were a complete delight! A wonderful experience and only regret is that we only had one night…just not long enough!! Room Tip: Junior suite was perfect…get one if you can!’
